Lord Charles Spencer lives in a real-life Downton Abbey. The ninth Earl Spencer inherited the Althorp estate in 1992, the childhood home of the Spencer family. The grand estate has stood for more than 500 years on 13,000 acres of beautiful countryside extending through Northamptonshire, Warwick and Norfolk, England.
The Althorp Living History Collection is modeled after the real furnishings of the estates, furniture acquisitions of the Spencer family during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Earl Spencer will discuss the history and significance of Althorp, as well as sign his latest book, Killers of the King: The Men Who Dared to Execute Charles I.
